Host your next party or corporate event at Belle Grove

Belle Grove Plantation is a National Historic Landmark located in Middletown, Virginia in the northern Shenandoah Valley.  Its Manor House was built for gracious entertaining and family life by Isaac Hite, Jr. and his wife, Nelly Madison Hite, between 1794 and 1797.

If you are seeking locations for a small dinner reception, a rustic barn party or a fun cocktail party, Belle Grove may be the place to hold it!  A fantastic location situated right off Route 11 and Interstate 81, makes it easy for all guest to easily access. We can host a range of party size from 40 to 150. The recently renovated 1918 Bank Barn would make a great place to host a dinner or corporate retreat. The grounds also provide space for any large corporate picnic or event. For small event inquires such as bridal or baby showers, please contact us.

All prospective renters are required to visit Belle Grove Plantation for a complete walk-through of the property before signing a rental contract. This will give you an opportunity to see the variety of options first-hand and allows Belle Grove staff to explain what is expected of renters. Upon signing a contract, renters are required to again meet with Belle Grove staff along with the approved caterers, florists, rental companies and other key parties to the event to review policies and procedures relative to the use of Belle Grove Plantation.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people may be accommodated in the Manor House cocktail party or dinner?

We can accommodate up to 40 people seated on the lower level of the Manor House. If you would also like use of the main floor of the Manor House, we can accommodate up to 60 standing.

How many people may be accommodated in the Barn?

The barn may accommodate up to 150 for a standing reception and up to 100 for a seated function.

How many hours does my rental include?

Rentals are typically seven hours and include one to two hours of set up for the event and one hour to clean up. Additional hours may be added for an additional cost. See price list.

Are rentals included in the rental fee?

The equipment, tenting, and furniture required for your reception are included in the rental fee depending on the size and type of event you are hosting. Any additional items can be added but will not be covered by Belle Grove. See price list.

How do I reserve my special event date?

In order to reserve your date Belle Grove Plantation requires $250 non-refundable deposit along with a signed contract.  This deposit goes towards your final price. For date availability please e-mail info@bellegrove.org.

May we bring outside vendors and caterers? 

We welcome you to bring outside caterers and vendors.  All we ask is they visit Belle Grove prior to your event.  Belle Grove also has a list of preferred providers that know the site well and offer competitive pricing for our guests.
