National Sheepdog Finals

Join Belle Grove as we host the 2017 U.S. Border Collie Handlers Association's (USBCHA) National Sheepdog Finals from September 26-October 1, 2017. Only 200 champion sheep dog and their handlers will qualify for this event that will crown the North American Champion. More information may be found here.

The event will begin with open preliminary rounds Tuesday, September 26 - Friday, September 29, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Those that qualify will compete in the Saturday semi-finals, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. The top dogs and handlers will complete in the finals on Sunday, 7:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. In addition to the main competition, there will be concurrent finals for nursery dogs (under 3 years of age) that will take place Wednesday through Friday. Food and merchandise vendors will be on the property during the entire event. A list may be found here (scroll to the vendors section).

Spectator tickets include touring Belle Grove's Manor House and Museum Shop, which will be open, Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will also be demonstrations in the area behind the Manor House. On Saturday a dog dancing demonstration by “The Steppin’ Woofs” will take place at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m. Deputy Jason Walther of the Frederick County Sheriff Office's K-9 Unit will conduct a demonstration with German Shepherd Heppy. On Sunday, “The Steppin’ Woofs” will do a demonstration at 11:30 a.m. A nose work and sheep shearing demonstration will also take place; please check this site for the final schedule.

Spectator tickets are on sale now at the link below or will be available at the gate during the event. Cash, check and all major credit cards will be accepted.
- Adults $14 per day, $36 for a three-day pass (any three days) or $60 for a six-day pass
- Youth 7-16 and Seniors 65 and Older $7 per day, $18 for a three-day pass (any three days) or $30 for a six-day pass
- Youth 6 and Younger May Attend at No Charge

PLEASE PRINT YOUR RECEIPT. No tickets will be mailed, you will need your receipt or email confirmation to enter the event grounds. This is a rain or shine event and there will be no ticket refunds.

PLEASE NOTE:
SPECTATORS MAY NOT BRING DOGS TO THIS EVENT.
Parking is provided and will be on grass. Handicapped parking will be provided for those with a valid placard.
Visitors may bring chairs and some bleachers and tent cover will be provided.
Comfortable clothing, sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and a pair of binoculars are recommended.
No outside food or drink allowed.
No smoking on event grounds.
