Tickets!

Online ticket sales have concluded. Tickets will be sold at the gate and are $35 for those wishing to do tastings and purchase alcohol for sale. Tickets for those under 21 or who do not wish to do tastings or purchase alcohol is $15. Children 6 and under are not charged admission. Cash or credit cards are accepted. Anyone with or wishing to purchase a "tasting ticket" must show photo ID upon festival entry per Virginia law.   

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR TICKET ONLINE, YOUR PAYPAL RECEIPT IS YOUR TICKET! Please bring it with you on the day of the event and proceed to the HAVE TICKETS line. We will also do our best to have the names of all who purchased tickets online available at the gate. Be prepared to show ID. If you purchased multiple tickets, please let your party know what name the tickets are under.

Tickets also on sale, while supplies last, at the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester (cash or check only). 

Tastings!

Chef Demos!

Chefs will be preparing historic recipes as part of the Hungry for History Food Event
These 30-minute demonstrations will be held in the upper level of the Beverley B. Shoemaker Welcome Center (barn)

1 p.m. Jim Courtney, Chef de Partie, Wayside Inn, Thomas Jefferson's Bread Pudding

2 p.m. Chef Rachael Wood, Indulgence by Rachael, preparing Abby Fisher's Chicken Gumbo from “Mrs. Fisher Knows about Old Southern Cooking” in 1881. It is the second oldest known cookbook to have been written by an African-American, and the first written by an African American woman.

3 p.m. Chef Phil Anderson, Chef's Corner, Shenandoah Chicken Salad

4 p.m. Valerie Haddox, Rice Batter Bread, a historic recipe from the Hite Family

* This event is a rain or shine 
* No person under the age of 18 shall be admitted to the festival unless accompanied by a parent or guardian
