Photography Classes by Scott Turnmeyer

Do you have a passion for photography? Do you have a camera that you would love to do more with? Have you ever wanted to take better photos, or wanted to learn about how the pros do it? If you answered yes to any of those questions then Scott Turnmeyer Photography Classes are for you.

Only a handful of times a year, Scott Turnmeyer blocks out an entire day to teach others about his passion, photography. Each day consists of 4 separate classes, each touching on different points of photography. Attend just one, or attend all. Details of each Photography Class are below:

Class 1: 9:00am - 10:00am - Photography Class Composing Your Shot: This class is one of Scott Turnmeyer’s 2 foundation classes, each geared to make you a better photographer with any type of camera, even your phone. Learn different composition techniques that Scott Turnmeyer uses each day, critique real worl photos on composition and more. It is guaranteed that you will come out taking better photos and look at photographs the differently. Good for any type of camera, ages 16+.

Class 2: 10:30am - 11:30am - Photography Class Reading The Light: This class is one of Scott Turnmeyer’s 2 foundation classes, each geared to make you a better photographer with any type of camera, even your phone. Learn different lighting scenarios and what techniques that Scott Turnmeyer uses each day. You will learn about how important the light is, and how to maneuver your shot to take advantage of it. Critique real worl photographs. It is guaranteed that you will come out taking better photos and look at photographs the differently. Good for any type of camera, ages 16+.

Class 3: 12:30pm - 2:30pm - Photography Class Shooting In Manual Mode (Part 1): This class is Scott Turnmeyer’s most popular class. So many people have expensive cameras and do not know how to get the most from them. Did you know that if you have one of these cameras and shoot in automatic mode then you are doing nothing different than what your phone would do? If you want to get off of automatic mode then this class is for you. 100% 5 star ratings have been given for the way that Scott Turnmeyer presents instruction on Shutter Speed, ISO and Aperture, the three building blocks of shooting in Manual Mode. He breaks it down in an easy to understand way while you sit with your camera and try it out. Once the classroom is done, you head outside where Scott Turnmeyer gives you assignments for you to practice what you just learned. Good for cameras that allow for manual settings, ages 16+

Class 4: 3:00pm - 4:00pm - Photography Class Shooting In Manual Mode (Part 2): This class is Scott Turnmeyer’s follow-up class after his very popular Part 1. In this class Scott Turnmeyer will go through more advance scenarios that you can use your Manual setting skills on. Learn about Depth of Field, different priority modes, Long Exposure Photography, High Speed Photography, And much more. Good for cameras with manual settings, ages 16+

Classes are rain or shine.

Only pre-registered attendees are allowed. Register here. All individuals will be required to sign a waiver of liability for both Scott Turnmeyer Photography and the Shenandoah National Park. Participants may be required to pay park entry and meet at the shoot location.

Cancellation Policy: Any workshop or class can be cancelled 7 days or more before the schedule event start time for a full refund.
