Belle Grove Sinkhole Project Complete
After several years of planning and several months of hot, intense labor Belle Grove is happy to announce the completion of another one of our many restoration projects. For hundreds of years, Valley farmers used naturally occurring sinkholes at Belle Grove and throughout the Valley as trash pits. Today Belle Grove remains dedicated to cleaning up these various locations on our property. The latest sinkhole clean up finished last week. It was the largest to date found on the property and contained several tons of material. Thank you to our partners--the Soil and Water Conservation District, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Blue Ridge Governor's school. Stay tuned for more info upcoming Belle Grove restoration projects. If you are interested in becoming a part of the action, click here!
