Candle Lighting Honoring the Individuals Enslaved at Belle Grove

Friday, December 1 at 1-2:30 p.m. will be a Candle Lighting Honoring the Individuals Enslaved at Belle Grove. This is a free program on the lower level of the Manor House. It will discuss the 276 men, women, and children enslaved at Belle Grove and what archival records and archaeology reveals about their lives. We invite you to come "meet" Abba, Frank, Truelove, Daniel and many others. As part of the program, attendees will “light” a LED votive candle, one for each person. The candles will be arranged in family groups in the “Unearthing Enslaved Lives” exhibit and will illuminate every day in December from 2-8 p.m.
